To ensure your privacy, BusinessProfiles - AUSCITY adheres to the following principles for customer privacy and data protection.
Collection of information for the database:
BusinessProfiles - AUSCITY agents and contractors collect original information direct from individual businesses listed. We do not incorporate or add information from other or existing databases without the business being contacted directly and providing that business with the opportunity to accept or reject their entry being made. Although we may use other databases to 'check' for missed entries, we do not use that information without first contacting the business concerned. This makes our product unique.
Our Business Visitors/Telephone Consultant contractors may also ask the business owner/manager a number of questions for the purposes of local government and/or BusinessProfiles-Auscity research. This information is not added to the database nor available for sale or distribution to third parties. Businesses may choose not to answer these questions without penalty.
Distribution of information to third parties:
Local government can access 'their' municipal database for their own local government area at will. The information they receive is no more or no less than the information provided at businessprofiles.com.au
Local government are permitted to allow for the limited distribution (at their discretion) of this information in hard copy (only) with email addresses not being included. Again, the information distributed is only that which is available publicly at this web site excluding email addresses.
Organisations and individuals can purchase from BusinessProfiles - AUSCITY electronic information contained in our public database for the purposes of postal mailouts, personalised letters and statistical analysis. Email lists are not provided (see 'Advertising' below). The only information provided is...

Email addresses:
To protect those businesses with email addresses included in their entry in the BusinessProfiles online database, our Terms of Use clearly prohibit the harvesting or collection of email addresses from any BusinessProfiles site(s), databases and/or printed reports. The database is 'seeded' to monitor unauthorised use in this area. Penalties apply for those who choose to breach this ruling (details), be they deliberate or unintentional.
Advertising:
Advertisers and sponsors are welcome to enquire about including banner adverts and advertising at either/both the businessprofiles.com.au web site and the weekly 'BusinessProfiles News' broadcast email. The broadcast email is distributed to all email addresses contained in the database (except to those who have requested to be removed). Statistical information is available to sponsors/advertisers including click-through rates, impressions and likewise. At no stage is an advertiser/sponsor able to gain information or statistics regarding the personal identity of any person or user that 'clicked on' an ad/banner or witnessed an ad/banner within the BusinessProfiles sites at any stage.
Cookies:
businessprofiles.com.au uses cookies to make for a more user friendly product and service for users. Cookies are used to allow your own computer to 'remember' the region and/or towns you are searching. That is all! Cookies originating from the businessprofiles.com.au site do not take information from your computer to be passed to BusinessProfiles - AUSCITY or any other organisation.
Server Logs:
Our servers log the activity of users. Please note however that at no stage can any individual user be identified by name, town/city, email or similar - without that person knowingly and purposefully submitting that information (this requires the person to read and accept 'Terms' and then to also click on a button.

Sponsors/advertisers are provided with stats associated with their banner adverts.
